What we Teach
The Seven "P"s of your Organization
The Platform
Are you spending most of your own time and resources keeping things running, and very little time improving. Or are you and your team improving, yet failing to sustain the changes you're making? What you are lacking is STABILITY. We would like you to know that you already have all of the resources needed to be successful. We are able to help you to clearly see how the operating model you already have fits into the Inverted Pyramid Model. We then design the platform that allows you AND your organization to thrive!
The Purpose
Your organization must have a VISION of where its going in order for everyone to know what they are striving for. But understanding what the vision actually is can be overwhelming and even confusing. We work with you to clearly define what the purpose of your organization truly is, help you get clear on where you want to go next and then help your people see it too.
The People
The most valuable asset to any company is the People. Using our resources to help you to clearly define the roles and expectations that exist inside of your organization, and then help create the buy-in to get it done is the best investment that you can make! When your people clearly see & understand what you need them to do, and their Values are met, they will ENGAGE!
The Process
Why is there never enough time to do things right the first time, but always time to re-do it? The answer... If you don't do it right the first time, you will be re-doing it. So why is this so hard to avoid? Your operation exists because you and your people know how things are "supposed" to be done, yet you see corners being cut, repeated mistakes made, and honest people fail. By mapping out the current process, it will allow your entire team to see the issues, focus on CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT... and train to the system.
The Product
Whether your organization exists to build, service or sell, what you provide to your customer must have VALUE . Value is any product, service and/or activity that a customer is willing to pay for. By Identifying the Value Added and Non-Value Added activities in your organization, you will be able to determine whether or not you are providing Value. By understanding the types of waste that exist in your system, you can begin to eliminate the "muda", which will increase your quality and keep you in the game!
The Place
Culture is more than just something... its everything. You cannot change your people, but you do have the ability to influence them. This is because people are directly affected by the surroundings in which they reside. So let's be honest here.... Does the current environment you provide to them match the attitude that you are expecting in return? We teach you how to provide an environment that eliminates negativity, promotes creativity and creates a strong culture of EMPOWERMENT AND ACCOUNTABILITY!
The Profit
The success and longevity of any organization is based on its ability to produce value to the customer AND maintain its financial health. But with today's challenges in decreased sales, market fluctuations, customer demand and wastes in your system, there is usually little to no money left over for the company to maintain and sustain itself. Imagine what the results to the bottom line would be when EVERYONE on your team understands how they affect profit, and what they can do to decrease loss and increase revenue.
Changing the way you operate...
Organizational Structure
The traditional management system displayed above might seem to provide stability and dependability, but it lacks the one key element that everyone within the structure needs... SUPPORT. It is time for Organizations to change the way they think, manage and operate. Kaizen Initiatives teaches you how the "Traditional Pyramid" model actually works against your team's long term development. We offer a different view of how build a solid structure with your current resources, and help "make the flip" to the Inverted structure (see example below.) This allows those responsible to support their people, lead their teams and reach their goals.
Values and Vision
True alignment in an organization is achieved when people's Values are recognized, and Vision is provided. We offer the exercises required to help you gain an understanding of why your people come to work each day, see how they fit your needs and help you set forth the vision that they need to keep going.
The Kaizen Mentorship Structure
Moving your organization to the Inverted Pyramid model is a start, however there are some key steps to ensuring that the pyramid does not topple over! This support structure is not designed to be “managed”, it is made to empower! The most effective way to sustain change is to teach the people in the organization what they can do to contribute. Kaizen Initiatives Inc. offers specific Mentoring programs in three different levels.
Level 1 - Kaizen Events
Mentorship provided to the GROUP of people at the top of the pyramid in the form of Kaizen events. Level 1 is mostly made up of the organization’s employees or volunteers. The events may also include the External and Internal Customers such as vendors, suppliers, customers and stakeholders. Level 1 employees support the customers and are supported by the Level 2 leader(s).
Level 2 - Leader Mentoring
Mentorship provided to the KEY PERSON(S) in the middle sector of the pyramid. This level includes a vice-president, director, supervisor, manager, and/or team leader within an organization. Level 2 leader(s) support the employees and are supported by the Level 2 Vice-President(s) and/or Level 3 CEO.
Level 3 - Executive Mentoring
Mentorship provided to the INDIVIDUAL(s) in the bottom sector. Level 3 individuals include but are not limited to the CEO, Director, or any other executive position. We also welcome those you might be growing, promoting, and/or are part of the succession plan of your organization. Level 3 executive(s) support the vice-president(s) and/or manager(s) and are supported by the entire organization, including customers and stakeholders.
The Outcome
A solid, stable structure that flexes with change. Each level becomes a “servant to the cause” and offers 100% support where needed vs. control where not needed.
